Welcome to The Booster Leader! This site is designed for you, the leader of your child’s extracurricular booster organization. Whether you serve as an officer, a committee chair, or a general volunteer, there is something here for you!
I’m Dan Caldwell, author of The Booster Leader, 35 Leadership Essentials for a Thriving Booster Organization. I equip parent volunteers to lead with confidence so that they can provide exceptional extracurricular opportunities for their children.
I have led student support organizations for nearly two decades. I served the Blackman High School Band Boosters for eight years in roles of increasing responsibility: volunteer, chaperone, committee chair, vice president, and president. For twelve years, I served in a variety of leadership roles with the Boy Scouts of America as my son pursued and achieved the rank of Eagle scout.
I am certified by Toastmasters International as a Competent Communicator.
I am a 2019 graduate of Leadership Tennessee’s Signature Program (Class VI), and a 2018 graduate of Complete Tennessee Leadership Institute.
Professionally, I am a senior leader of a local nonprofit and former head of technical training for a Fortune Global 50 company. Connect with me on LinkedIn here!
I have been married to my wife, Katrina, for thirty-two years. We have two children, Grant and Katelyn. We live in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville.
I’m a huge Elvis fan – I own a copy of every song he ever recorded! I enjoy traveling, reading, and an occasional History Channel show!
